Mundare Sausage Supports Local Economy with New Job Creation
Stawnichy’s Meat Processors Invests Back into Alberta with New Smokehouse Purchases
Mundare, AB, February 28, 2017 — Stawnichy’s Meat Processors recently expanded its production line with the addition of new state-of-the-art smokehouses to replace its old smokers that were more than 33 years old. By investing back into its business, the recent purchase helps support local contract companies, creates new jobs in the area, and maintains its high standards for consistent food products.
“It has been a rough economic year for Alberta. As a small family-owned business, we want to inject back into the economy and help create momentum to move it forward as it continues to recover.”Justin Barbour, chief financial officer for Stawnichy’s Meat Processing
Safer Work Environments
The project was a significant undertaking for Stawnichy’s, from installation, to set-up, and overall staff training. The new smokehouses are programmed with automated cooking temperatures and optimized for shorter cooking times. In addition to increasing efficiency and cooking capacity, the next generation smokers also provide internal cleaning systems for a safer work environment for employees. The smokers were initially purchased to maintain high standards of customer service, with the added advantage of rural job creation to meet demand for its products.
